This wine opens with a nose of vivid
strawberry and rhubarb, while the palate
reveals flavors of red plum and
pomegranate with a pleasant minerality.
Harvested from 30-year-old Kekfrankos vines on
the single vineyard parcel of Tihany. Harvested
early, the resulting wine is lower in alcohol but
maintains ripe fruit. Processed without crushing,
only whole berries were placed in open
fermentation vats, where they were fermented on
the skins for 12 days with minimal agitation, at a
relatively low temperature. Aged in used
Hungarian oak and matured on fine lees without
agitation for 8 months.
